Professor Andrew Chi-Chih Yao Awarded First National “Master of Teaching Award”
On October 15th, the China Teacher Development Foundation (CTDF) held their first Master of Teaching Award, Innovation and Entrepreneur Excellence Award and Outstanding Teaching Award ceremony in Zhejiang University. Professor Andrew Chi-Chih Yao, Dean of the Institute for Interdisciplinary Information Sciences (IIIS), received the prestigious Master of Teaching Award.
Professor Yao is a world-renowned computer scientist, and Turing Award winner. Furthermore, his dedication to education, tireless efforts in teaching students and mentoring young instructors makes the CS undergraduate program (known as the Yao Class) at Tsinghua exceptional and internationally recognized as “the best undergraduate program”, according to a citation from the ceremony.
