President Kristel Baele of Erasmus University Rotterdam visits Tsinghua
On June 14th, Kristel Baele, President of Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands visited Tsinghua University. Vice President and Provost Yang Bin met with the guests in Gong Ziting. The two sides exchanged views on further deepening the cooperation between the two universities and renewed the MOU at the university level after the talks. The Dutch Ambassador to China Ed Kronenburg also came along with President Baele.

Yang Bin briefed President Baele on recent developments of Tsinghua University, focusing on important achievements made in comprehensive reforms and global strategies. Yang noted that Tsinghua University attached great importance to the cooperation with Erasmus University Rotterdam, and that the two sides had a good foundation for cooperation. The two universities have carried out student exchanges programs and faculty cooperation research. Yang hoped that the two sides would take this opportunity of renewing the MOU to further deepen their cooperation, and jointly explore more cooperation modes, such as the joint development of dual-degree programs and the establishment of joint laboratories.

President Baele reviewed the cooperation between the two universities in management disciplines, public health, industrial engineering and other fields, and noted that Tsinghua University is an important partner of Erasmus University Rotterdam. He hoped that the two universities would actively explore greater possibilities of cooperation in the future and carry out in-depth cooperation on student training and joint research.
