108 Laps-Long Distance Relay Race to celebrate Tsinghua University’s 108th Anniversary
On the morning of April 27th, the 108 laps long distance relay race kicked off this year’s Anniversary celebration.
Long distance running during the anniversary was initiated by Mou Wenshu in 2016, who was admitted to the Department of Automation of Tsinghua University in 1977. The Tsinghua University Alumni Running Association is still the lead organizer this year.
The novelty of the long distance running this year is that it was designed as a relay race, to encourage more alumni to participate. The participants are divided into four teams, with each team being composed of alumni who graduated from Tsinghua University more than 30 years ago, 20 years ago and 10 years ago, as well as alumni who graduated less than 10 years ago.
In total, over 400 students, faculty and alumni from Tsinghua University are participating in this four-and-a-half-hour event to jointly reach the goal of 43.2 kilometers.
