Student inventions displayed to celebrate Tsinghua’s anniversary
On April 28th and 29th, an exhibition showcasing a range of fascinating entries for Tsinghua's 36th Challenge Cup Technological Innovation Competition, and the THU CIE Exposition 2018, were held on campus, simultaneously highlighting the students’ creativity and celebrating the University’s 107th Anniversary.
Qiu Yong, President of Tsinghua University, Chen Xu, Chairperson of the University Council, together with other leaders and former leaders of the University, attended the occasion.
Yang Bin, Vice President and Provost of Tsinghua, announced the winning entries of the Competition. The winners received their trophies during a ceremony.
The THU CIE Exposition, subdivided into six thematic sections -- Theory, Humanity, Urban, Cyber, Industry, and Expression, was well attended with many students and visitors having the opportunity to both interact with the inventions and learn from the inventors about the technologies and the departments. The overall theme of this year’s Exposition was “I Tech U”, a rearrangement of the acronym “THU CIE”.
The Exposition included a number of innovative and high-tech displays from a number of the school’s departments. Many unique inventions were displayed with the Department of Automation, the School of Architecture, the School of Materials Science and Engineering, and the School of Environment in attendance to name a few.
