Tsinghua opens its libraries to the public in celebration of its 107th anniversary
Tsinghua celebrates its 107th anniversary this year with jubilations. Among the many events put on to celebrate the anniversary was the opportunity to visit Tsinghua's beautiful libraries.
Students and staff were excited to share this experience with the visitors of the university. Deng Huidan, a student and volunteer at the Old Library said that she thought "it was a great event for people to come and see what Tsinghua used to be and what it has become". Chen Weiming, an alumnus from 1964 returned with his son and his son’s family saying that he was "excited to have the chance to return and experience the nostalgia of Tsinghua".
Once inside, visitors were offered tours and information about the libraries and invited to look around. There were also many presentation boards outside that gave information about the libraries as well as the history of Tsinghua. After a week of midterms both students and visitors could be seen enjoying the peace and quiet of the libaries.
